Paris Photo Daily #158

Dear Paris Photo Daily Readers,
I owe you an apology for the silence over the past couple of weeks. After our family vacation, I returned to Paris and immediately dove into co-hosting a photography workshop. As a one-man operation, keeping up with a daily newsletter proved challenging during this time. I’ve missed sharing my love for Parisian photography with you all, though, and I’m ready to get back to it!
That said, I’m going to ease back in with a more manageable schedule. For now, expect Paris Photo Daily to land in your inbox three days a week. I can already hear the chuckles. Yes, there’s a bit of comedy in calling this Paris Photo Daily while only delivering three times a week. But I’d rather share consistently at this pace than overpromise and underdeliver. Let’s see how this goes, and I’ll do my best to ramp up from here.
Now, let’s talk about today’s photo. I captured this abstract image of the Eiffel Tower during last week’s workshop. It’s an in-camera double exposure. The mirrored composition plays with geometric symmetry, making the iconic structure almost surreal. For me, this rearrangement of "reality" opens a door to see beyond any given circumstance, challenging my own preconceived notions—an approach I strive for in my abstract photography, and one that’s quite literally reflected (pun intended) in this image. I hope it inspires you to look at the familiar in a new way.
Thank you for sticking with me—I’m excited to be back and sharing more moments of Paris with you.
Warm regards,
JCK
